Yes, you can easily edit any item name, price, or quantity after scanning. You can also add items manually if something was missed. We want to make sure your split is always accurate.

Tax and tip are split proportionally based on the total of items each person is paying for. For example, if you ordered $30 worth of food and your friend ordered $20, you would pay 60% of the tax and tip while your friend pays 40%. This ensures everyone pays their fair share.

Yes — there are two ways. To split an item equally between multiple friends, tap each person's initials on that item and the cost is divided equally among them automatically. For items where each person had a different quantity — for example, you had two glasses of wine and your friend had one — tap the 'Split Quantity' label next to the item. A sheet opens where you use +/− controls to set how many each person had, with a counter showing assigned vs. total. Tap Apply and SplitEven handles the rest.

Yes. SplitEven works with any currency. The currency is automatically detected from the symbol on your receipt. If it can't be identified, the app uses your default currency from Settings. For manual item entry, your Settings currency is always used. You can update your default currency in Settings at any time.

The app interface is available in 7 languages: English, French, Spanish, Russian, Dutch, Thai, and Indonesian. The language switches automatically based on your device's language setting. Receipt scanning works regardless of the language or script printed on the receipt.

SplitEven gives you three ways to share after calculating the split. You can send a link so friends can view the full itemized breakdown in their browser — no download or sign-up required. You can also export the split as an image or share it as a text summary. All three options work via WhatsApp, iMessage, email, or any messaging app.

No. Only one person needs SplitEven to scan and split the bill. Just share a link and your friends can open the full itemized breakdown in their browser — they see exactly who owes what, with the same experience as the app, without installing anything or signing up.

Yes! If your receipt doesn't include a tip or you want to adjust it, you can easily add or modify the tip amount. The new tip will be split proportionally among everyone just like the tax.

Receipts are stored only on your current app installation. If you uninstall the app or switch to a new device, your past receipts may not be recoverable. In future updates, you’ll be able to sign in and access your receipts across devices.
